Jose Mourinho – the Portuguese superstar who led Roma – is currently on the market scouting out football clubs. After several years at the top with Roma, he's back in contention for a new managerial position.

Shenanigans plagued Mourinho as he attempted to whip Roma into winning form. But Roma's recent performances in December 2023 and January 2024 left a lot to be desired:

He was fired in January 2024 after leading Roma for under three years. Sadly, four losses in seven games sealed his fate. The January 10, 2024, match against Lazio in the Coppa Italia did it.

Following an abysmal showing, Daniele De Rossi was drafted to head Roma and Mourinho was sacked. So far, it's great under De Rossi, with plenty of back-to-back victories for Roma.

But Mourinho's football prowess is internationally respected, with a Conference League victory and a berth in the Europa League final. He has been associated with many big names of late, including Barca, Napoli, and Man United.

He was disappointed at being sacked; he left his Conference League ring in the change rooms at the Trigoria ground, in Capt. Lorenzo Pellegrini’s locker.

It was a bitter pill to swallow for the Portuguese manager. But now, he's looking for another club, and football pundits have several options in mind.

Where Next For Jose Mourinho?

Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah approached him to sign up with them last summer while he was still at Roma. Recall that Robbie Fowler held a top spot in the Saudi First Division League for four months.

The Saudi club has been courting Mourinho, who is gunning for a promotion to the Saudi Pro League.

Betting odds indicate that it's possible Napoli may be interested in signing 'The Special One', but so is Chelsea.

The speculation surrounding José Mourinho's next managerial destination is rife, with odds offering a fascinating insight into potential future clubs.

  • According to odds, the most likely scenario sees Mourinho heading to the Saudi Pro League, with odds standing at a commanding 1/3, underscoring the league's growing allure for high-profile managers.

  • The Blues - Chelsea - a club with which Mourinho has a storied history, emerges as the second favourite at 3/1, hinting at a possible dramatic return to the Premier League.

  • Riding high with ambitious projects, Newcastle is also in the mix at 4/1, presenting an intriguing option.

  • Further afield, Bayern Munich and Napoli are pegged at 8/1, reflecting potential openings in the Bundesliga and Serie A.

  • FC Barcelona, despite its historical stature, comes in at longer odds of 12/1, suggesting a less likely yet fascinating prospect.

  • The Portugal national team rounds off the list at 14/1, a nod to the possibility of Mourinho taking the helm of his national side, adding a patriotic chapter to his illustrious career.

While Chelsea is certainly an enticing proposition, many other contenders for the job include Michel Sanchez, Roberto De Zerbi, Xabi Alonso, Zinedine Zidane, Xavi Hernandez and Ruben Amorim.

José Mourinho's future managerial position remains a hot topic, with many clubs and national teams in contention. This sets the stage for his next role in a fiercely contested ongoing saga.
